Additional Measures for your comfort and safety while at Low Costa Mill

Please note, we are currently only accepting bookings for a single household/support bubble per cottage. If you wish to book multiple cottages please contact us prior to booking to discuss your situation.
Covid is a known condition and we are asking guests to book accordingly, or be prepared to reduce the numbers travelling if necessary, to comply with current regulations. If your booking must be cancelled because either Low Costa Mill is put under Government restrictions and must close or the address of the lead booker is put into local or regional lockdown meaning you are not permitted to travel for your booked dates, we will transfer your deposit to a suitable date, or refund monies paid.
If our cottages are open and you, the guests, are permitted to travel then your booking will proceed. You are responsible for ensuring you comply with all government legislation relating to your stay, including, but not limited to the number of households permitted to stay and/or socialise together both indoors and outdoors, by limiting the guests staying at Low Costa Mill or by booking additional cottages.
Covid is also now a known risk and it is possible for you to insure your holiday against it. This can include you or your party having Covid, or you or your party having to isolate or quarantine, or you wishing to shield any of the guests.
We advise all our guests to have UK travel insurance to cover all eventualities. If you choose not to, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.
Prior to your stay we will contact you with our pre-arrival information, swimming pool guidance and rota and frequently asked questions.
Please ensure you follow all current government guidelines and laws regarding social distancing and handwashing during your stay at Low Costa Mill. Where it is clear you are breaking the law we will have to ask guests to immediately change behaviour and if this is not followed we will have no option but to insist guests leave site, no refunds for the remaining duration of your stay will be issued. Arrival and Departure details To ensure we can clean and sanitize to the required standards we are temporarily adjusting our check-out time. Please note that check-in has reverted to 4pm, we are unable to offer any early check-in facilities at this stage, please do not arrive prior to this time. Check-out is 9am. We appreciate this is inconvenient but is in line with other large cottage rental companies and allows peace of mind that the cottage is fully ventilated and sanitized to the required standards. Shared Facilities Our Swimming pool is currently open, (subject to change as per government guidance) To ensure social distancing, we are continuing with a rota system, as many guests have told us they wish to continue with a private slot while Covid-19 is still circulating. Each cottage will have a 1 hour time slot allocated Sunday-Thursday, with sessions split across all times of the day (between 9am and 17:30 pm). We are have two open swim sessions every day, with a maximum of 12 swimmers, 17:45 – 19:15 then 19:30 - 21:00. Our children’s play area, is open, we have a very large grass area for you to enjoy, please bring your own ball, frisbee, kites or anything else you enjoy. All children must be supervised at all times. Our laundry is open. Please advise us if you wish to use a BBQ, so we can ensure it is setup prior to your arrival. If you require a cot, high chair or stair gate, please let us know in advance, so these can be set in the cottage prior to your arrival.
Guests showing signs of Covid-19 whilst staying at Low Costa Mill are required to advise the owners, and immediately leave if this is reasonably possible as per government guidance. If for any reason that it is not, and self-isolation is required to take place at Low Costa Mill, then all fees for all bookings affected by this self-isolation will be borne by the guest. Even with some restrictions, you can have a great holiday both here at Low Costa Mill and in the Pickering area, but please prepare, plan and book ahead, as many attractions are offering pre-book or timed entries only.
