Easter holidays in North Yorkshire at Low Costa Mill

Magnolia at Castle Howard

Easter holidays in North Yorkshire are especially special when spent at Low Costa Mill. Spring has arrived, bringing brighter days, blooming daffodils, and the excitement of Easter.  The countryside is turning green, the days are longer, and there’s a calm before summer begins.

As you explore the surrounding countryside, you’ll often spot adorable spring lambs in the fields. Travelling through the North York Moors National Park at this time of year feels quietly magical.

Easter is the perfect time for relaxed days out and family adventures. From woodland trails to historic houses, there’s something for all ages to enjoy. Below, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite Easter activities, all just a short drive from Low Costa Mill.

Castle Howard & Yorkshire Arboretum Easter Trail

A short drive away, Castle Howard and the Yorkshire Arboretum host a magical Easter trail. Owl has invited his woodland friends to take part in a springtime competition.  Who can create the shiniest bird box?

Follow Owl through the gardens and arboretum as you discover each colourful creation.  Along the way, answer questions and enjoy the beautiful spring setting.

Young explorers who complete the trail receive a prize at the finish.  Afterwards, treat yourselves to Easter goodies in the cafés and shops.

The trail links Castle Howard with the Yorkshire Arboretum.  Why not make a full day of it and enjoy both locations?
